It is hot as balls here on the Eastern seaboard, but I feel great. On Thursday, temps were well into the 90s in DC when I was having my first Taxol infusion (fifth infusion overall). I took a big dose of Dexa (a steroid) 12 hours and 6 hours before the infusion, and then got even more pre-med steroids and benadryl, so I luckily slept for about 2 of the 4 hours I was at the cancer center being pumped full of drugs. I had some trepidation about an allergic reaction, as it’s apparently pretty common with Taxol, but things went smooth as can be.
The rest of the day I was a bit out of it, but that was probably more the benadryl than anything. And now, two days after my infusion, I feel like nothing even happened. Everyone said that T would feel like a breeze after AC – they weren’t kidding!
Now, back to the pool so I don’t melt in these 100 degree temps.
